Kurup becomes the first Indian film to be releasing a series of NFTs as part of the promotion leading up to its release. A Mollywood feature film, Kurup, stands out from most films. It achieved a unique distinction of becoming the first Indian movie to release three Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) before the theatrical release. M-Star Entertainments, a subsidiary of Indel Corporation and Wayfarer Films, are the co-producers of the film.
Stored on the Blockchain network, NFTs are unique digital assets. It includes everything from music to a website domain. Bought and sold online, digital tokens are records of ownership for virtual or physical assets.
Digital artwork and a printed poster of the feature film “Kurup” signed by the lead actor Dulquer Salmaan to be up for grabs on the NFT marketplace. The Abu Dhabi-based Ammbr NFT marketplace will launch the digital assets in October last week.
The blockbuster movie’s star cast features Dulquer Salmaan, Indrajith Sukumaran, Sunny Wayne, Shine Tom Chacko, Sobhita Dhulipala, Anupama Parameswaran, and Shivajith Padmanaban. Srinath Rajendran directed the masterpiece and the main shooting language is Malayalam, the movie will also release in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada in dubbed versions.

What more does Kurup has to offer?
Among the three upcoming NFTs, a unique NFT will offer a video clip in Mp4 format with embedded music, digital artwork, and a paperback poster of Kurup signed by none other than the lead actor Dulquer Salmaan and the director Sreenath Rajendran.
Moreover, there will be some additional 10 GIF-based NFTs of the unique artwork entitling their buyers to a copy of the poster which will be signed and is given along with the unique NFT. Supplementing this is a series of 100 static high-resolution digital-art versions of the NFT, which will not offer the hardcopy poster to the buyers.
