The popularity of Shiba Inu (SHIB) is probably not equivalent to DOGE but still is aplenty. This becomes more established from the recent announcement that popular crypto exchange Bitstamp has listed Shiba Inu in its crypto exchange.
According to an announcement made yesterday, Bitstamp has added support for four more cryptocurrencies, including Shiba Inu. Besides SHIB, they’ve added dydx (DYDX), gala (GALA) and perpetual control (PERP). In addition, users can now trade them against the Euro and the U.S. dollar.
The crypto exchange had opened deposits and withdrawals for Shiba Inu on the same day. Today, they’ve stated that users “can place and cancel limit orders” on their platform.
Moreover, Bitstamp has detailed that “Order matching will start soon and trades will execute normally.”
They also added, “Once the order books gather sufficient liquidity, we will enable all order types and card purchases for the new trading pairs as well.”
For the time being, U.S and Singapore customers cannot trade these assets on the platform.
The adoption of Shiba Inu is growing steadily. Just the day before Bitstamp’s announcement, Travala announced about adding SHIB as a payment method. With this integration, users can purchase more than 3 million travel products, boosting the meme coins applicability.
Alongside this, retail giant Newegg will start accepting Shiba Inu on its platform, according to their announcement. This came just after a month when AMC Theaters announced that they’ll also begin to accept Shiba Inu in the first quarter of next year. Also, crypto exchanges Kraken and Gemini added support for Shiba Inu, further boosting its popularity.
