Coinbase introduces a new browser extension

Coinbase has announced a new downloadable Coinbase Wallet extension for more easier and secure connection to dApps and DeFi on your desktop.

More than a million Coinbase wallet users use dApps like Compound and Uniswap. An issue inherently present is the tedious process of scanning QR code each time for connecting with the dApp.

Through this extension, the user has to link his/her wallet account with the extension once. After that, the user can access all the cryptocurrencies, trades on DEXs and NFT marketplace. Also, the user can link his/her Coinbase account to the wallet and buy/transfer crypto to use in DeFi.

The user must be running the latest version of the Android or iOS Coinbase Wallet mobile app before downloading the extension for using this service. After that, scan the QR code on the Wallet extension once and visit a dApp. The extension will automatically save your account details.

Transactions can be initiated directly via desktop but do require user confirmation on the mobile wallet app.

With the new extension, Wallet’s private keys are encrypted using the secure enclave or keystore of your mobile device, where they are protected with biometric authentication or a PIN.
