The world’s largest crypto exchange Binance is partnering up with one of the greatest football players, Cristiano Ronaldo for launching an exclusive NFT collection.
It is a big push for the NFT industry which is currently meddling in issues majorly due to the weak crypto market conditions. The press release stated:
“Through this partnership, Binance will launch a global promotion aiming to give Cristiano Ronaldo’s fans an introduction to Web3 with a compelling entry point into the world of NFTs.”
In addition to that, Binance said:
“Over the course of the agreement, Binance and Cristiano Ronaldo will create a series of NFT collections for sale exclusively on the Binance NFT platform. The first NFT collection will be released later this year and feature designs created in collaboration with Ronaldo.”
Users can purchase the exclusive NFT collection from the Binance NFT website. CEO of Binance Changpeng Zhao praised Ronaldo’s achievements in football. Moreover, he also stated that the athlete has “transcended sport to become an icon in multiple industries.”
In the end, Zhao mentioned that the football superstar “has amassed one of the world’s most dedicated fan bases through his authenticity, talent and charity work.”
This is not the first time any crypto exchange is looking for sports partnerships.
The crypto market has seen a lot of sports partnerships with various crypto companies and exchanges. Last year, Crypto.com signed a $700 million deal to rename the Staples Center in Los Angeles as the Crypto.com Arena. Moreover, FTX Trading, a popular crypto exchange sold a stake to National Football League quarterback Tom Brady.
