Crypto mining and staking firm Foundry has recently started an academy for training and preparing technicians in the Bitcoin Mining Industry.
Dubbed Foundry Academy, this training course from the firm will give aspiring engineers a viable alternative to official training courses from Bitmain and MicroBT. As of now, those two are the largest manufacturers of Bitcoin Mining rigs.
However, both the companies have a ‘lackluster’ attitude towards their official training courses. Bitmain’s training course is substantially secretive and the trainees have to keep all training information confidential due to the terms of service. MicroBT on the other hand has a pretty basic certification course and has posted training materials on YouTube.
Besides these, there are multiple programs and workshops that offer some sort of blockchain or bitcoin mining education. However, no single certification exists in the industry today that combines hands-on training and workforce development.
Foundry Academy’s one-week program offers courses starting with bitcoin fundamentals all the way to mining rig diagnostics and maintenance. Its next training is scheduled to start on September 12. Besides offering the certification program, the firm will leverage its connections in the industry to help graduates land jobs.
As the expansion of the crypto and blockchain industry continues, the bitcoin mining industry has created a growing opportunity for professionals possessing the technical know-how required to scale. As of now, Foundry estimates that facilities with a total power of around 2-3 gigawatts will be built out over the next 12 months alone. This’ll in turn create thousands of technical job openings.
